I travelled with these guys back in May 2007, taking a tour in the Northern Territory. The tour was great, covering off many places including Darwin and Litchfield National Park. The guide and vehicle were excellent, which really made the trip relaxed and enjoyable. I am looking to do the East Coast with these guys next time.
Hold onto your helmet on this one. I spent a great day out with the guys on the bikes, covering miles of farmers tracks through stunning scenery. Some of the drops from the tracks are not for the faint hearted and the hillside ascents get your heart pumping, but it really is a super experience.
I stayed in this hotel and just loved the panoramic views that it offers of the bay and ocean, from its location on the hillside overlooking the town. It is a nice 15 minute walk into town, longer on the way back up the hill. The rooms are fine, but not exceptional - but the hotel restaurant is super. I recommend you try the lamb chops........so good!
I travelled to the Faroe Islands earlier this year and although I didn't see too much evidence of the sun, stunning scenery was still in adundance. I really enjoyed the views of the rugged coastline and hardy land, great 'mountains', lakes and ocean.Very easy to get around on the islands and really is worth spending sometime to explore a range of the islands as each one offers something slightly different.I had a fabulous time and will certainly go back again in the summertime.Have a read of my blog if you fancy reading more http://www.addictedtotravel.com/myprofile/post.aspx?blogpostid=176
I have stayed at the Riad Omar about 4 times now and I really love this place. It is situated literally less than a 1 minute walk from the Djemma el Fna Square and offers a wonderful and peaceful place to stay in a fantastic location. The rooms are fairly standard, but very comfortable and good value. Breakfast is taken on the roof terrace, which is worth the stay itself, with fantastic views of the mountains on a clear day. The food is very nice too with freshly cooked local bread or pancakes....very nice. The riad is also known for its local traditional food during the day - worth the 1 minute walk back from the square to try it out! Excellent value.
After a long days touring round many exciting spots on Kangaroo Island, I was given a very warm reception by the husband and wife team at the hotel. I stayed in one of the newly renovated Deluxe rooms, which was excellent, with very good facilities. Dinner was taken in the very relaxed restaurant/bar and the food was the best I had on my tour - the aged Kangaroo steak was wonderful, with all local produce and wine, super! The view over the Ocean in the morning was also stunning.
At just over 3 hours flying time (and plenty of cheap flights) Marrakech is a great place for a short break. A fast growing new town has some good restaurants but is becoming internationalised, so if you want the real cultural experience then head for the Medina with it's busy souks, wonderful palaces and hip riads. Lively and vibrant....and still relatively cheap. I'm going back in September to get out into the mountains.
If you think things go quiet after sun down, then think again! The Djemaa el Fna is a great place to sit and sample some local food, have a drink and basically watch life go by. Some of the entertainers were not quite my cup of tea, but that's all part of the show, and 4 glasses of the orange juice does funny things to the tummy (but it is very good). Make a b-line to the square and be ready for the spectacle!
Riad Adika is a beautiful and tranquil hideaway. Located only 5 minutes from the Souks and 10 minutes from the exciting Djemaa El Fna Square, it offers a wonderful escape. The view of the Atlas mountains from the roof terrace, whilst sipping on mint tea, just about hits the 'full relaxation' spot.
