Introduction

Having worked in Athens for a couple of years, we have a house built on a Cretan hillside to which we have retired. Val spends much of her time developing the garden.

Crete as an island has so much to offer (once you get away from the very few mass-marketed resorts) - walking, quiet beaches, culture, excellent food and friendly people.

This has NOT stopped us travelling!

Areas of Interest

Most places, preferably less developed. We HATE crowds! We have a particular soft spot for South America.

We’ve just returned from a superb week in Morocco organised by Rendez-vous Marocain through Addicted to Travel - thanks, Rida. The riad they suggested - Riad Adika - in Marrakech was fantastic – a walk away from the centre through souks where th...

Staying here was the highlight of our 4½ weeks in Ecuador. Not even The Galápagos could compare! Poling in a canoe along the Shiripuno River, the only sounds the gurgle of water, the call of birds and the swish of paddles – heaven! Everything we did, from walking through the jungle to m...

We stayed at Maquipucuna during our 4½ weeks travel in Ecuador – and what a place!!! Really off the beaten track – in thick forest next to a river, it’s a bird-watcher’s paradise where hummingbirds fly around your head. We loved the lodge, the people we met there (staff, guides and naturalist...

I have just booked a week's holiday in Morocco through this site - to stay at Marrakech and Essaouira. I'll report back when we've been, but so far I must compliment Addicted to Travel and their agent in Morocco - Rendez-vous Marocain - who have been VERY friendly and helpful.
