Hi,
Im after somewhere to lay my head in La Paz - can anyone recommend anywhere? Could be here for days trawling around the net, and recommendations are always a good place to start!

Thanks in advance

Hi Nikki

I spent last week in Berlin at a huge Travel Show, where I sat down to ask some local Tour Operators from Bolivia and travellers who have recently been there, where they would recommend you stay in La Paz.

Here is selection, depending on budgets - and I've highlighted two of the most interesting ones in red:

Top End

Hotel Camino Real (5*)
Centrally located luxury.
Click here for their booking agent's website (Summit Hotels).

Hotel Ritz (5*)
The Ritz... with all the trimmings. Bolivian style, of course.
Click here for the Ritz website.

Mid-high range

Hotel Rey Palace (4*)
Apparently rather grand, but lacking in character.
Click here for the Hotel Rey Palace website.

Medium range

Hotel Gloria (3*)
Calle Potosi 909
Slightly run-down, but popular backpacker hang-out.
I couldn't get hold to their website.

El Dorado (3*)
Fairly characterless businessmans' hotel.
The Eldorado hotel website is here.

Hotel Rosario (3*)
Well located, colonial style building, with lots of nice patios.
Click here for the Hotel Rosario website.

Cheaper

Hostal "Naira"
Calle Sagarnaga 161.
This one came highly recommended.
Click here for the Hostal Naira website.

Hotel Sagarnaga (2*)
Calle Sagarnaga 326.
Great location, good price and reasonable lodgings.
Click here for the Hotel Sagarnaga website.

Adventure Brew Hostel
Avenida Montes 533.
Their tag-line is "Beds, Brews, Bikes & BBQs". With an onsite micro-brewary, this sounds like a lively place to stay!
Have a look at the Adventure Brew Hostel website here.

So, there are a few ideas to get you started!

I hope it is helpful - do come back and let us all know how you get on - we look forward to reading your blogs!
