Hi all,

Check out the new Activities in the Oman Travel Guide - 19 amazing new day excursions offered by expert local operator Desert Thunder.

Oman Activities

Desert Thunder also operate a large number of multi-day trips, and for these they prefer to specialise in delivering a top-quality experience to the discerning traveller.

Having been to Oman a couple of times I can tell you it's one of the most exciting new destiantions of the Noughties. The desert is of course amazing with 4WD dune bashing trips into the Wahiba Sands a hair-raising way of getting to see it. Add to this 3000m mountains, remote villages where traditional customs and dress is very much the norm, a fort of world-class standard on every hill, amazing diving and snorkelling (and loads of dolphins!) and you can see why it's getting a reputation as the place to visit in the Middle East.

If you get a chance to go, don't think twice. Go!

Bye

Carl

Hiya Berliegirlie,

Sorry 'bout that!! Oman is unbelievable and lives up to all the hype. The desert is amazing and still quiet as not so many people make it out there.

Avoid May to September as it's really hot; at other times of the year it's bearable but a couple of months either side are still quite warm. The winter months of Oct to Mar are high season, but you can forget Spanish-style crowds - it's still lovely andlaid back.

The people are great too and there's a growing number of smaller hotels that mean this traditionally relatively-expensive country is more affordable.

Can't wait for the blog!

Ta ta

Carl
