Hi Everyone, I'm new here and I'd love to be in touch with anyone that has done Gorilla Trekking in Uganda and Rwanda. I'd love to get feedback on companies to travel with. I'd also like some suggestions for Ethiopia. I look forward to hearing back from fellow travelers. Thank you, Elisa WrldTrvlrr@aol.com

Hi Elisa - Volcanoes operates in both (and owns hi-end accommodation), though I believe both Lake Kitandara and Churchill Safaris (both mid-range operators) can book gorilla permits and accommodation in Rwanda.

The alternative is to book Rwanda with a local Rwandan operator - several good ones are established now including 'Primate Safaris' - they are not live on our site yet but you can view their website at http://www.primatesafaris-rwanda.com/

To cover your plans for Uganda/Rwanda - 2 weeks should allow plenty of time for 2 gorilla treks, perhaps a visit to QENP (highly recommended), chimp tracking at Chambura Gorge and rafting the Nile.

For Ethiopia - Ethiopian Airways fly Addis/Entebbe so access is no problem. For a taster you should really allow a week to take in the highlights of the Historic Route - Bahar Dar, Gondar and Lalibela, and maybe Axum (though tight in a week)... internal flights are the only option in that time - but this is what most travellers use anyway - driving in the north of Ethiopia takes a long time on poor roads.

I'd suggest that anything shorter isn't really worth the effort and expense.

Hope this helps.
