The first ever Moroccan Travel Market has just been held in Marrakech (17 to 20 Jan). With regional tourist offices from around the country showcasing the depth and variety of things to see and do in this increasingly popular holiday destination, the exhibition was a great success. As well as local travel experts (tour operators and travel agencies), there was a surprising number of traditional riad properties, tastefully and traditionally built hotels, quad-bike and buggy specialists, balloon companies, airlines and transport companies.Several West African countries also chose to exhibit - perfect for future planning as we start to plan the launch of our Cameroun Travel Guide and Madagascar Travel Guide later this year.Feedback from both exhibitors and visitors was very positive - entertainment was laid on in true Moroccan style - a feast of tagines, cous cous, and belly dancing.
