We have received reports from ATTA (African Travel & Tourism Association) members in Zambia that the government has implemented their new budget as of midnight. Although officially unconfirmed these new fees are already being implemented at Livingstone Airport.Part of the budget changes has had a dramatic effect for the visa waiver and visa costs. As follows:1. As from January 26th 2008 the whole visa waiver system was abolished. This appears to mean that every visitor is obliged to pay for his or her visa.2. In addition all visa costs have increased considerably. As follows:UK nationals: US$140 for single entry (was: US$55), US$442 for multiple entry. USA nationals: US$135 (was US$100). Canada nationals: US$55 (was US$30)Other nationalities (continental EUR): US$50 for single entry (was US$30), US$80 for double entry and US$160 for multiple entry. We await confirmation but be aware.ATTA will be writing to the Zambian High Commissioner to object, supported in writing by addictedtotravel.com and many other ATTA members. If you have just travelled to Zambia and have had to pay these amazingly high fees - please let me know.ThanksNick
