Visit historical sites of the city of East London and learn about the history of the city.
Itinerary
At 1000 AM or 1300 PM, pick up from your hotel and stop at Nahoon Beach and walk on a board walk to view human footprints and have a view of Nahoon beach which is popular for surfing. Next stop is the German Settler memorial and Hero’s Park. Stop at Lock Street Jail Shopping Complex, which was a Women’s Jail with original gallows where people were hanged. Drive to Oxford Street and stop in front of the City Hall, one of the most beautiful buildings in town with the statue of Steve Biko in front. Drive to the East London Museum, the home of the Coelacanth, and spend some time visiting different galleries in the museum, which has much history to tell.
