Discover the Cape Winelands, on a tour that will take you into the heart of the beautiful countryside and into the cellars of its most famous wineries that have launched South African wines onto the world stage.

The fertile green valleys of Cape Town's winelands are surrounded by proud mountain ranges. Towns and villages have many historic homesteads and monuments, and every so often fruit orchards are to be seen, whose produce may be found in all corners of the world. It is the Mediterranean climate and winter rainfall area of the southwestern Cape that produces some of the best wines in the country. The rich, fertile soils along the Breede River and especially the areas of Somerset West, Stellenbosch, Franschoek and Paarl, have become world famous for their whites, reds, sherries, ports and brandies.

Itinerary

This full day tour will take you through Paarl and Stellenbosch. We will visist the Afrikaans Language Monument in Praal. The Afrikaans language is approximately 300 years old and, compared to the other languages of the world, it is relatively young.

It is a unique language, because its roots are spread over three different continents, ie Europe, Africa and Asia and it has mothertongue speakers across the boundaries of race, creed and culture. The Monument was unveiled on 10 October 1975 and it pays tribute to the diverse roots of Afrikaans and the people that use the language.

We then drive to Stellenbosch to visit Blaauklippen Wine Farm were you will enjoy a cellar tour at Blaauklippen. You can enjoy lunch at Blaauklippen Wine Farm (LUNCH NOT INCLUDED)
