Lake Kitandara Bwindi Camp is located adjacent to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park actually overlooking the beautiful rainforest, a famous home for mountain gorillas.

Having opened in 1994 Lake Kitandara Tented Camp is the best camp for mid-market visitors to Bwindi National Park. Recently refurbished in a traditional African style, it has unique tents which retain some original features but also have modern conveniences. The camp has a very charming and friendly atmosphere and feels very much a home away from home. Views of Bwindi Forest from the terraced camp are simply breathtaking. If you are really lucky during your stay you may even get a surprise visit by the mountain gorillas!

The camp has a total of 20 comfortable tents which are self-contained and are named after Ugandan bird species. With 24-hour solar power electricity in operation, no detail has been overlooked in the refurbishment of these magnificent tents.

The bar has been refurbished to suit your highest expectations and overlooks the forest. The evening breeze from the forest will relax you after Gorilla tracking. Drinks range from soft drinks, beers, sherries, wines, spirits to mention but a few. Come and sooth your thirst while watching monkeys and different species of birds across the forest. The emphasis is on the finest cuisine and the very best in fresh local produce. The restaurant is in an elevated position above the forest.

From the camp several guided walks are possible in the surrounding Bwindi forest.
