This listed stone house was built in the 19th century by the owners who used to be farmers, cultivating mainly wheat and harvesting carobs and olives. The house was completely restored in 2006. The owner's wife used to spin and loom silk, and keep fowl. The family used to bring its wine by donkey from the nearby mountain village of Vavla.
From a private road, double wooden doors open into a secluded garden planted with lavender, oleander, and stephanotis, overlooked by an ancient almond tree. Swallows, night jars, humming bird, hawkmoths, bats, geckoids, butterflies, and hedgehogs are daily visitors. Inside the house is a fine example of a Palati, a double vaulted arched room with stone flooring that serves as a sitting room.
The house is air-conditioned and centrally heated, and has three double bedrooms, a dining room, and a terrace that runs the length of the house and overlooks the swimming pool. This house offers its visitors peace and tranquility besides all modern conveniences.
Excellent restaurants can be found near the ancient ruins just off the main highway and in the nearby village of Tochni. The Fish tavernas of Zygi and Governors Beach are situated approximately 10 minutes away by car.
