The Dar Louisa is available for rent on a weekly basis, sleeping up to 10 people it comes complete with its own chef. The Riad can also be visited on a gourmet cookery course between 11th October and 8th November.

Dar Louisa, also known as the Owner’s Villa, is a smaller house than its sister property Dar Liqama yet no less luxurious. To the front of the house lies an ornate pond-shaped pool, edged with all manner of palms, flowers and trees. A picturesque bridge over the pool invites guests to stroll across, or perhaps dangle their legs over the side and contemplate a swim in its cool waters.

Once behind the antique cedar doors of Dar Louisa’s entrance, the flowering orange trees exude the unmistakable scent of fleur d’orangers, which pervades the air. 

A cascading blue Marjorelle fountain, reminiscent of a waterfall, makes this a truly elegant space. Guests can find a peaceful corner here for an afternoon’s reading or congregate for a relaxed al fresco meal.

Leading off the courtyard, you’ll discover Dar Louisa’s principal salon with a gorgeous emerald green Zelige fireplace as its centrepiece. On cool nights the fire is lit and guests sit in the intimate half dome alcove facing the fireplace. The beautifully sculptured cedar furniture complements the hand made silk fabric from the Medina’s souk.

Dar Louisa’s master suite has three rooms on the first floor: a king size bedroom with an elevated bed that lies beneath an intricate antique window, a private salon with a fireplace and semi-dome alcove with stunning views through its slit windows. The luxurious bathroom has a large fireplace facing the exquisite dome-covered bath, where the circular panes cast an alluring light on its aubergine surface.

The four remaining premium bedrooms feature corner fireplaces, en-suite bathrooms with separate shower and private garden terraces. All bedrooms feature fabrics from the Medina’s souk made by hand from a traditional tram. Designed by the owner and created at Caverne de Tissage, the stunning mix of colours integrates silk, wool and velour. Dar Louisa’s décor is exotic yet soft and soothing to the senses with luxurious textiles specially chosen for their quality and comfort.
