The Chateau des Baudry, located between Bordeaux and Bergerac, has a privileged location on the “route des vins”, nearby the medieval cities of Saint Emilion and Sarlat, the Dordogne valley “aux mille châteaux” and the prehistoric cave of Lascaux. The 25 hectares of undulating meadows, woods and vineyards that surround the four solid wings of this distinguished chateau offer a natural idyllic setting for stays full of charm and tranquillity. The many country roads and trails that criss-cross the estate, have the most beautiful walks.
The hotel has drawing rooms, library and shaded terraces for a relaxing stay. In the evenings, dinners are served according to the season, in the panelled dining room in front of the fireplace or under the palm trees on the terrace beside the pond. The fresh produce from the vegetable garden and surrounding markets are the basis of Hélène’s cooking.
The hotel has five vast suites (some with fireplaces) paved with terracotta tiles and softened by Persian rugs. All the bedrooms have two entrances opening onto the garden and the terraced sides, guaranteeing privacy for each room. Antique furniture, pictures and etchings give each room it’s own character. The rooms have views over the fields, parks, vineyards and woods.
Your hosts offer a warm welcome and you will be invited to spend a relaxing stay in Périgord, a region of chateaux, history, gastronomy and wine.
