General Advice
In Sudan you will find that nearly everything has to be paid for in cash and you should carry sufficient funds in US dollars (or pounds sterling or euros). Bring US$ in small denominations for smaller expenses and departure tax.
Money Exchange
The majority of services and purchases in Sudan will accept hard currency rather than local dinar. Money exchange must be done through authorized dealers such as banks and hotels. Dinars can not be re-exchanged upon departure or taken out of the country.
ATM Availability
ATMs are not available in Sudan.
Credit Cards
Credit cards are only accepted in major international hotels.
Travellers Cheques
Traveller's cheques are very rarely accepted and when you can exchange them it is both difficult and very expensive.
