Visa and Passport Requirements for Syria

Entry Warning

The documentation and fee required for obtaining visas varies according to both your nationality and where you are applying from. It is the sole right of each country to determine who is allowed to enter.

Passport

All passports must be valid for six months and have two clear pages free.

Taxes

Some countries may charge an arrival or departure tax which may or may not be included in the price of an airline ticket, or may need to be paid in cash on arrival or departure.

Visa Requirements

Australia A visa is required for individuals travelling to Syria. In order to obtain a visa the passport must be valid for six months on submission and have at least two blank pages. It should not bear any Israeli stamps or indeed evidence of a visit to Israel. Travellers visiting for more than 14 days must register with Syrian Immigration authorities before their fifteenth day in country.
Canada A visa is required for individuals travelling to Syria. In order to obtain a visa the passport must be valid for six months on submission and have at least two blank pages. It should not bear any Israeli stamps or indeed evidence of a visit to Israel. Travellers visiting for more than 14 days must register with Syrian Immigration authorities before their fifteenth day in country.

United Kingdom A visa is required for individuals travelling to Syria. In order to obtain a visa the passport must be valid for six months on submission and have at least two blank pages. It should not bear any Israeli stamps or indeed evidence of a visit to Israel. 2 colour passport photographs are required. A letter on headed notepaper from your employer confirming you are known to them. 2 Syrian visa forms (per person) to be completed and signed. Costs £32 for a single-entry visa, valid three months; £50 multiple-entry visa, valid six months. Travellers visiting for more than 14 days must register with Syrian Immigration authorities before their fifteenth day in country.
